چکیده

This paper investigates the adaptive local resource reservation call admission control protocols. The algorithms are built upon the concept of guard channel and we use an adaptive algorithm to track the optimal number of guard channel resources to reserve at a base station. We compare the following adaptive algorithms, one based on the Wiener prediction theory and the other based on the arrival rates of the handoff calls. We compare the methods together with the conventional fixed guard channel in terms of the handover blocking probabilities and the new call blocking probabilities. Our simulation results show that both these methods perform better than the fixed guard channel reservation scheme.

Adaptive call admission control and resource allocation in multi server wireless/cellular network

The ever increasing demand of the subscribers has put pressure on the capacity of wireless networks around the world. To utilize the scare resources, in the present paper we propose an optimal allocation scheme for an integrated wireless/cellular model with handoff priority and handoff guarantee services. The suggested algorithm optimally allocates the resources in each cell and dynamically adj...
